This itinerary is designed by Oasia. Local partners verify prices, availability, safety, and operations before a booking is confirmed. It is not copied from another platform’s catalog, and it is not already field-verified.
Families do well around Issyk-Kul when we respect nap windows, snack stops, and the fact that Ala-Kul is not a family trek. This week stays on roads and easy paths: Bishkek without a gorge on landing day, the lake for swimming in season, Skazka as a short supervised walk, Karakol for food, and Jeti-Ögüz as a half-day viewpoint. A gentle horse hour is optional. A yurt night is discussed honestly — magical or sleepless — and never forced. Child seats, where required, are a field item, not a slogan.
Day by day
Bishkek. Early bed. No Ala-Archa. Overnight: Bishkek.
A park or playground if the children have legs. Drive to Issyk-Kul with more stops than an adult circuit would use. Overnight: Northern Issyk-Kul.
Swim in season, skip stones, do very little. This day exists so the week does not become a car. Overnight: Northern Issyk-Kul.
A short canyon walk with edges respected. Overnight on the south shore. Overnight: Southern Issyk-Kul.
An unhurried eastbound day. Ice cream is an acceptable itinerary item. Overnight: Karakol.
Dungan lunch. A half-day at Jeti-Ögüz or a very short, matched horse loop — not both stuffed into one morning. Backup is a playground and a bakery. Overnight: Karakol.
Return with daylight and snacks. Evening in the capital. Overnight: Bishkek.
Airport with more margin than you think you need.

Not included

How you travel
Accommodation. Hotels and guesthouses with private rooms. Family rooms where they exist. Camping is not part of this template. A single yurt night can be added after we talk about sleep.
Transportation. Private car with planned breaks. We do not use marshrutka as the family default. Child seats are confirmed after local review — not claimed here.
Physical requirements. Easy walking. Children should be able to handle dusty paths with a hand held near drop-offs. Long car days are the harder part; we break them up.
What to bring
- Sun protection
- A layer for the lake wind
- Familiar snacks for the car
- Any medicines the children need
Safety considerations
- Canyon and shoreline edges. Supervise.
- Issyk-Kul is a real body of water, not a pool.
- Horses only if matched and optional.
Cancellation
Changes and cancellations are handled according to your written booking confirmation. Supplier rules for stays, horses, and trekking support can differ. See the cancellation policy draft and ask Oasia to confirm the terms that would apply to your dates.
Permits and route registration
Some itineraries may involve border-zone permits, park fees, or route-related paperwork depending on the season and exact route. Oasia will confirm what is relevant after a local review. Do not treat this page as a permit checklist.
