This itinerary is designed by Oasia. Local partners verify prices, availability, safety, and operations before a booking is confirmed. It is not copied from another platform’s catalog, and it is not already field-verified.
Eagle hunting is a real practice in parts of Kyrgyzstan, and also a roadside show. Oasia will only arrange a visit when a hunter who currently keeps and flies birds is willing to receive guests that week. We do not promise a hunt, a kill, or a costume photograph. The day is an introduction: how the bird lives, what the work actually is, and a demonstration only if the host offers one. If no practitioner is available, we cancel or replace the day rather than send you to a performance.
Day by day
Confirm the person, not a generic ‘eagle show’. Travel from Bokonbaevo, another south-shore stay, or Karakol. Visit, conversation, and only what the practitioner is willing to show. Return the same day. If the host is travelling, sick, or unwilling, this day does not happen — we will not substitute a staged alternative. Overnight: Southern Issyk-Kul or Karakol.
Included and not
Included
- Introduction to a living practitioner when one has agreed
- Translation support if needed
- Private transport for the visit
Not included
- A guaranteed hunt or kill
- A costume performance
- Photographs of the bird if the host says no

How you travel
Accommodation. Not a stay with the hunter unless that is separately and later agreed. Sleep on the south shore or in Karakol.
Transportation. Private car. Exact village depends on who is receiving guests — we do not freeze a pin on the map.
Physical requirements. Easy. Short walks around a homestead or hillside. Cold in winter.
What to bring
- Modest clothing
- Warm layers in autumn and winter
- Ask before photographing people or birds
Safety considerations
- Eagles are working animals, not props. Follow the host.
- We will not arrange this with someone who only performs for buses.
- Ethics and animal welfare are a field conversation, not a slogan on this page.
Cancellation
Changes and cancellations are handled according to your written booking confirmation. Supplier rules for stays, horses, and trekking support can differ. See the cancellation policy draft and ask Oasia to confirm the terms that would apply to your dates.
Permits and route registration
Some itineraries may involve border-zone permits, park fees, or route-related paperwork depending on the season and exact route. Oasia will confirm what is relevant after a local review. Do not treat this page as a permit checklist.
