How many days do you need?

A long weekend, a week, ten days, or two weeks each make a different country. More days beat more stops.

Four days

Enough for Bishkek plus a Karakol or lake weekend if you accept a lot of road. Not enough for Ala-Kul and a relaxed circuit.

Seven days

A satisfying first visit: capital, lake, Karakol, south shore. Adding a high pass in the same week usually makes the rest feel rushed.

Ten to fourteen days

Room for a yurt chapter or a real trek, and still a finish in Osh if you want the south. Two weeks is generous, not excessive, for a first visit that hopes to feel complete.
